Privacy Policy
This page describes exactly what Ochem Chef's code actually does with information — not a generic template. If anything here is unclear, email ochemchef@gmail.com and ask.
Your practice progress stays on your device
Every time you answer a question, the app records it: how many times you've seen that problem, how many times you've gotten it right, and when it's next due for review. That record is saved using your browser's built-in local storage (localStorage), tied to that one browser on that one device. It is never sent to a server, because this app doesn't have one — it's a single static file. Reopening the app tomorrow, next week, or next month just reads back that same local copy. There are no accounts: you never sign up, log in, or give your name or email address to use it.
The "Copy my progress" and "Restore progress" buttons on the Progress screen also stay entirely local: the app encodes your saved progress into a short block of text for you to copy and paste yourself onto another device. Nothing is uploaded anywhere to make that work.
Clearing your browser's site data, switching browsers, or using a private/incognito window all start you with a blank slate, since nothing is stored anywhere except in that one browser.
Analytics
This site uses Umami (specifically, Umami Cloud). Umami is cookieless and collects no personal data and no persistent identifiers — it has no way to tell one visitor from another, build a profile of anyone, or follow you across other websites. There is no advertising on this site, and Umami is the only analytics or tracking script it loads — no ad networks, no social-media pixels, no cross-site tracking of any kind.
The Umami script is loaded with nothing but this site's ID — no extra settings — so it runs with Umami's standard behaviour: it counts each page view, plus five custom events this app sends:
- that a daily-practice session started;
- that a question was answered, whether it was right or wrong, and which topic it belonged to;
- that a daily-practice session finished, with how many questions were answered and how many were correct;
- that an Exam Prep session started, which mode (Exam Practice or Mock Exam) and how many questions;
- that an Exam Prep session finished, with how many questions and how many were correct.
None of this can identify you personally — there's no name, no email address, no saved progress, nothing tied to you across visits. Because nothing personal is collected in the first place, there's no opt-out offered; there's nothing to opt out of. A page view records which page was opened, the site that linked to it (if any), and your screen size and browser language; Umami also works out your browser, operating system, device type and country from the request itself. For the full detail on how Umami works, see their FAQ.
Who else sees any of this
A few outside services are involved in running this app, each with a narrow, specific role:
- Cloudflare Pages hosts this website. Like any web host, it handles the ordinary technical details of each request — such as your IP address and browser type — in order to deliver the page to you.
- Umami receives the anonymous page views and usage events described above.
The typefaces this page uses are hosted on this same site rather than loaded from a font provider, so there's no third-party font request to mention here at all.
None of these services ever receive your practice progress, since that never leaves your browser at all.
Cookies
This app does not set any cookies of its own, and neither does Umami — it's built to work without them. Your practice progress lives in localStorage, not a cookie, and is never transmitted anywhere.
Changes to this policy
If what this app collects or how it's used changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
